While maintaining a conventional profile, large taillights at the rear establish a visual link with other Cadillac models. Despite lacking excitement inside, it includes the $1,650 Tech Package, offering features like a head-up display and wireless phone charging.
The interior’s lackluster design falls short of Cadillac’s luxury standards, despite leather and a jet black and oxford stone interior. Priced over $50,000, the absence of upscale aesthetics and tactile controls is evident.
Though not disappointing outright, it exudes a certain timidity. The addition of a broad touchscreen provides some relief, yet it’s not enough. Also included is a $1,550 sunroof, along with other options that significantly raise the price.
PERFORMANCE
Underneath the hood of the XT4 lies a turbo-4 engine from Cadillac, matched with a suspension tailored for comfort, not sportiness.
With its 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine, the XT4 generates 235 horsepower, showcasing commendable responsiveness, aided by a 9-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifts.
Although Cadillac aims to portray the XT4 as sporty, it falls short of embodying that spirit, particularly with the optional 20-inch wheels which lean towards stiffness. Moreover, the XT4’s brakes convey an artificial feel, detracting from its performance allure.
VERDICT
Priced at $43,995, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 AWD Premium Luxury we had for a week had additional options that brought the total cost up to $55,115.
