Infiniti’s 2024 QX60 is a premium three-row crossover SUV that stands out for its luxury-oriented design. It competes with other models in the segment, such as the Acura MDX, Buick Enclave, Volvo XC90, and Nissan Pathfinder.
DESIGN
It’s a solid design, but it doesn’t take any bold leaps. The large front grille blends seamlessly with the unpainted lower trim, giving it a rugged vibe.
However, the 20-inch alloy wheels suggest it’s more about style than off-roading. At the back, there’s a lot going on with extra chrome on the bumper, which might be a bit much, but overall, it still looks good.
Tested in the Autograph trim, the QX60 flaunts a striking two-tone grand blue paint job, albeit at an extra cost of $695. Its cabin, featuring a sweeping dashboard angled towards the driver, showcases an elegant saddle brown interior, ensuring easy access to climate controls.
Comfortably integrated into the dashboard, the 12.3-inch touchscreen blends seamlessly, avoiding any semblance of being hastily added. Infiniti provides a range of interior color options, with the upscale Autograph trim showcasing luxurious leather and open-pore wood accents.
PERFORMANCE
Infiniti’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine, sourced from Nissan, delivers 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. This slight boost in power compared to the Nissan Pathfinder doesn’t translate into noticeably faster acceleration.
The 9-speed automatic transmission complements the engine, providing smooth shifts during city driving. However, when attempting to overtake on the highway, it may require a firmer push on the accelerator due to slower downshifts.
Under the hood, the engine’s low growl is subtle yet satisfying. The car’s softly-tuned independent suspension combined with its 20-inch wheels contribute to a smooth and comfortable ride.
On the highway, the vehicle maintains impressive stability, aided by the ProPilot Assist system, which allows for limited hands-off driving. Unfortunately, fuel economy isn’t its strongest point, but all-wheel drive does boost the QX60’s towing capacity from 3,500 to 6,000 pounds.
VERDICT
Starting with a base MSRP of $66,100, the 2024 Infiniti QX60 Autograph AWD’s price increases with additional features. Adding the Lighting Package for $795, a radiant grille emblem for $455, and premium paint for $695 brings the final total to $69,240.
Competition
Competing with the QX60, Buick Enclave and Cadillac XT6 present robust power, sophisticated interiors, and intuitive tech. Volvo XC90 distinguishes itself with a lavish cabin and cutting-edge hybrid tech, albeit at a premium cost.
Acura MDX adds a sporty flair, appealing to drivers craving excitement. Those eyeing the QX60 but seeking affordability may find a match in the Nissan Pathfinder, offering comparable features and ample space.
