Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: Powerful 641-hp model begins at $67,475

Priced from $66,100, Hyundai’s debut N-brand electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5 N, sets a new benchmark for high-performance electric cars, premiering at Automobility LA and arriving in US dealerships this month.

Jose Munoz, CEO of Hyundai North America, highlights the immersive driving experience offered by the fully-equipped IONIQ 5 N, marking a significant step forward in high-performance electric vehicle technology.

Focusing on driving pleasure, the IONIQ 5 N integrates advanced technology to optimize its three core “N pillars”: Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar, utilizing Hyundai’s E-GMP platform and a dual-motor setup to deliver 641 horsepower (478 kW).

Utilizing a two-stage inverter to boost output from its 84 kWh battery, the IONIQ 5 N achieves its impressive power, with the N Grin Boost activating up to 641 horsepower for 10 seconds.

Features like the N Pedal, N Drift Optimizer, and N Torque Distribution enhance handling and cornering, while the N Race mode is finely tuned for endurance on the track, ensuring optimal lap times.

Employing Hyundai’s most powerful braking system yet, the IONIQ 5 N incorporates N-tuned brakes with new materials for improved airflow and cooling, along with N e-shift and N Active Sound to replicate the sensations of a combustion engine sports car.

Aerodynamic elements like the black wing and wing-type spoiler improve airflow and enhance the vehicle’s sporty appearance, complementing its lower stance and wider build compared to the standard IONIQ 5 N, with N-branded elements throughout the interior.
