Infiniti’s Vision Qe: A glimpse at their debut showroom-ready EV hatchback

On Tuesday, Infiniti unveiled the Vision Qe concept, a striking fastback hatch that serves as a preview of the brand’s forthcoming electric vehicle lineup, slated for release soon. Its crossover counterpart, the Vision QXe concept, is also in the pipeline and will be revealed separately.

The design of the Vision Qe embodies the latest evolution of Infiniti’s Artistry in Motion design language. It boasts distinctive features tailored for electric models, including a seamless integration of a unique grille into the front fascia and bold light bars spanning the vehicle’s width at the front and rear. Termed as “digital piano key” lighting by Infiniti, this feature greets the driver with a captivating sequence upon approach.

The INFINITI Vision Qe concept showcases INFINITI’s evolved design form “Artistry In Motion’ in the all-electric era. It blends artistic details with a single fluid design gesture that flows from front to rear. Its sleek, aerodynamic fastback profile exudes a sense of graceful motion.

While detailed information about the Vision Qe’s powertrain remains undisclosed, the brand has yet to specify the precise timeline for the production model. Insights from a dealer meeting last summer suggest that sales might commence in 2026. This electric hatch aims to fill the void left by the discontinuation of the mid-size Q70 sedan after 2019. The crossover counterpart is anticipated to follow suit in 2027, as highlighted in the same dealer meeting.

In 2022, Infiniti provided a sneak peek of both EVs, confirming their manufacturing at Nissan’s production plant in Canton, Mississippi. Notably, the facility will also be tasked with producing related Nissan models.
