2014 Audi RS 7 priced from $104,900

The RS 7, Audi’s most powerful RS model sold in the U.S., will start at $104,900 when it goes on sale this fall. The five-door coupe has a 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds and will be offered in the all-new fuel-efficient A7 TDI clean diesel model or in A7 3.0T and S7 4.0T variants.

The Audi RS 7 sports a robust twin-turbo 4.0 TFSI V-8 engine that generates 560 hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Its speed tops out at 174 mph. The innovative cylinder on demand technology allows the RS 7 to deactivate cylinders 2, 3, 5 and 8 by closing their valves via electro-mechanical actuators and the engine then runs in four-cylinder mode, allowing up to 15 percent improvement in fuel efficiency. The active noise cancellation system is not needed on the RS 7 as low exhaust frequencies of the exhaust are hallmarks of the RS model.

The RS 7 comes equipped with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi’s vaunted quattro all-wheel drive system with sport differential for improved grip and handling. Available in standard, matte aluminum or carbon styling, the RS 7 has stylish bumpers, Audi Singleframe grille in aluminum matte or high-gloss black, honeycomb grille inserts and heated, auto-dimming and power-folding exterior mirrors.

The Audi RS 7 starts with the Prestige equipment level, which offers technology features including Audi MMI touch with handwriting recognition. With hard and soft keys, dedicated buttons for commonly-used controls and a revolutionary touchpad that interprets hand-written inputs. The RS 7 is equipped standard with Audi side assist to monitor blind spots as well as fast-approaching vehicles.  The optional Night Vision Assistant can detect pedestrians approximately 300 feet ahead of the vehicle. A cornerview camera is part of the Driver Assistance plus package, and the available adaptive cruise control and Audi pre sense plus enhances safety for drivers and their passengers.

The RS 7 is equipped standard with the infotainment system Audi connect, which includes factory-fitted in-vehicle Wi-Fi for passenger use. Audi connect is complimentary for six months and available starting at $15 per month thereafter.
