2024 Honda Odyssey Elite

With room for up to eight passengers and generous interior space, the 2024 Honda Odyssey provides excellent value among standard minivans. It faces competition from newer options like the Kia Carnival and more versatile, fuel-efficient alternatives such as the Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica.

DESIGN

Inspired by Honda’s sleeker models, the Odyssey adopts design elements from popular SUVs to refine its boxy shape, especially noticeable in the rear. The application of gloss treatment to various parts, along with 19-inch alloy wheels, further enhances its appearance.

Functional features like chrome accents, integrated LED lights, and stacked fog lights not only add to the vehicle’s visual appeal but also integrate well with its overall design, highlighted by two prominent body lines leading to the rear. Inside, smart storage solutions blend seamlessly with glossy black and faux chrome accents for a modern feel.

PERFORMANCE

Powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine generating 280 horsepower, the Odyssey offers swift acceleration, although its 10-speed automatic transmission may hesitate during gear changes. Providing a comfortable ride through front struts and multi-link rear suspension, the focus is on smoothness rather than agility.

Though not remarkably fast, the Odyssey ensures smooth acceleration despite occasional gear change delays, particularly under heavy loads. Its towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds remains respectable, despite minimal steering response and swaying during sharp turns, indicative of its boxy design.

VERDICT

With a base price of $50,370, after accounting for destination and handling charges, the total cost for the 2024 Odyssey amounts to $51,765.

Competition

Considering options like all-wheel drive or hybrid powertrains, the Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica stand out, with the Pacifica boasting an impressive 32 miles of all-electric range.

If you’re looking for alternatives to the Odyssey, Kia’s Carnival provides a single front-drive powertrain, whereas the Kia Telluride crossover offers a more luxurious interior; alternatively, the Honda Pilot offers ample space without sliding doors.
