Porsche’s 2025 Taycan Turbo GT: 1,092 hp, $231,995, 0-60 in 2.1 seconds

Unveiled on Monday, Porsche introduced the highly anticipated flagship of its 2025 Taycan range, the new Taycan Turbo GT, set to hit dealerships this summer. Priced at $231,995, including destination charges, it offers the option of a Weissach track package at no additional cost.

Despite its high price tag, the Taycan Turbo GT promises performance that rivals or even surpasses more expensive models in Porsche’s lineup. The 2025 Taycan updates bring added power across most grades, with the Turbo S boasting up to 938 hp.

Equipped with a more potent pulse inverter, the Turbo GT’s dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivers a standard 777 hp, temporarily boosted to 1,092 hp with launch control. Activating Attack Mode on the track adds an extra 160 hp for a 10-second burst.

Responsible for controlling the electric motor, the pulse inverter in the Turbo GT boasts a 900-amp rating, compared to 600 amps in the Turbo S. Porsche utilizes silicon carbide as the semiconductor material, allowing for higher switching frequencies and enhanced efficiency.

With its full power unleashed, the Turbo GT accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.2 seconds or 2.1 seconds with the Weissach package. Standard top speed reaches 180 mph, extendable to 190 mph with the Weissach package, placing it among the top-performing EVs on both the road and track.

Clocking a remarkable Nürburgring lap time of 7:07.55, the Turbo GT, equipped with its Weissach package, outpaces the Tesla Model S Plaid by 18 seconds and nearly matches the record set by the Rimac Nevera hypercar.

Achieving a Laguna Seca lap record of 1:27.87, Porsche benefits from the weight-saving Weissach package, which replaces rear seats with a carbon-fiber cover and storage system.

Trimming 157 pounds from the Turbo S, the Weissach package removes rear speakers, the analog clock, an exterior charge port, and floor mats, while also enhancing aerodynamics with air deflectors and a rear wing.

Standard features in both the Turbo GT and Weissach-equipped version include carbon-fiber accents, 21-inch forged wheels, and Porsche Active Ride suspension tailored for the Turbo GT.

Included as standard are carbon-ceramic brake rotors with lightweight calipers, offered in six exterior colors including the exclusive Pale Blue Metallic and Purple Sky Metallic for the 2025 Turbo GT model year.

Standard interior features comprise sports seats with 18-way adjustment, adorned with Turbo GT script badges on the dash, headrests, and door sill plates.
