Pagani Huayra R Evo features pop-out roof panels and 900-hp V12 with long-tail design

Representing a significant departure from its predecessor, the Huayra R Evo introduces notable changes, particularly in its design. Embracing a long-tail configuration reminiscent of Pagani’s earlier Huayra Codalunga, this alteration, coupled with various aerodynamic adjustments, substantially enhances downforce by 45% without compromising on drag efficiency.

Significant enhancements grace both vehicle ends: Rear elongated by 7.5 inches, front profile enhanced with lengthened splitter and added flics. Centrally located stabilizing fin connects elongated roof scoop to windshield apex.

Innovatively drawing inspiration from contemporary IndyCar race cars, removable roof panels flank the roof scoop. Conceived by Pagani’s founder, Horacio Pagani, subsequent to observing an IndyCar event in Nashville, these panels emulate the aeroscreen design, offering drivers an unobstructed experience of airflow and engine acoustics with the top open.

Nestled within is the familiar 6.0-liter V-12 engine, a signature of the Huayra R. Crafted with HWA, this powerhouse delivers 888 hp, 50 hp more than before. Improvements include a 9,200 rpm redline and refined intake, exhaust, and camshafts.

Power from the engine is channeled to the rear wheels via a bespoke 6-speed sequential transmission, also engineered in tandem with HWA. Specifically tailored for the Huayra platform, this non-synchronized dog ring transmission not only weighs a mere 176 pounds but also serves as a structural element, facilitating direct mounting with both the engine and carbon-fiber tub.

Huayra R Evo’s suspension flaunts double wishbones forged from aluminum. Active dampers and a heave damper, common in racing, enable independent height control. Additional upgrades include carbon-ceramic brake rotors, 19-inch front, 20-inch rear wheels, Pirelli P Zero slick racing tires.

Pagani hasn’t disclosed pricing yet but introduced the Arte in Pista program. It invites buyers to track-day events at famous circuits, offering coaching and track-side support, emphasizing a complete ownership experience.
