Fisker Unveils Alaska Electric Truck: 340-Mile Range at $45,400

Fisker, the EV startup, unveiled its mid-size pickup truck, the Alaska, at its inaugural “Product Vision Day” in California. Reservations for the Alaska are open, and deliveries are slated to start in early 2025, priced at $45,400. The truck’s local production in the U.S. will avoid the 25% Chicken Tax for imported trucks and could qualify for a $7,500 federal EV tax credit.

Built on the same FT31 platform as the 2023 Ocean compact crossover, developed with Magna Steyr, the Alaska aims to be the lightest global electric truck. It offers two battery options: 75 kWh and 113 kWh, estimated to deliver ranges of around 230 and 340 miles. Performance varies with acceleration times of 0-60 mph in 3.9 and 7.2 seconds.

The Alaska exclusively features a crew cab style, extending to 208.8 inches in length. Designed as a lifestyle truck with a modular bed, it can accommodate items up to 9.2 feet. The “California mode” lets windows, except the windshield, open.

For charging, Fisker plans to adopt Tesla’s NACS connector from 2025 onwards, granting Fisker owners access to Tesla’s charging network. This strategic move aligns with Fisker’s focus on seamless charging infrastructure.
