$700k buys the last 2023 Dodge Challenger Demon 170 build slot

In a recent event, the Barrett-Jackson auction took place in Las Vegas on June 24. During this auction, the last opportunity to acquire a brand-new 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 was presented. The highest bidder secured the final available build slot for an impressive sum of $700,000.

All the proceeds from the winning bid will be donated to the Kristi House charity, an organization actively committed to fighting against child abuse and child sex trafficking.

By acquiring this build slot through their financial contribution, the buyer ensures their place in the production queue once manufacturing begins in the summer. In addition, they will have the privilege of personalizing the vehicle with a unique paint scheme, making it a truly one-of-a-kind car.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is $96,666. However, considering a $1,595 destination charge and a $2,100 gas guzzler tax, the effective base price amounts to $100,361. The buyer will be responsible for covering this minimum amount, as well as any additional charges imposed by the dealership.

Dodge’s objective is to produce 3,000 Demon 170s for the United States and 300 for Canada, matching the production numbers of the original Challenger SRT Demon. However, production is scheduled to conclude on December 31, regardless of the total number of Demon 170s built. Given the production constraints and limited timeframe, the final count may even be lower than initially anticipated.
