Record-breaking sale: Aston Martin DB12 fetches $1.6M in historic auction

Aston Martin’s remarkable new DB12 grand tourer has found its first owner through a successful bidding war during a charitable auction in France last week.

The vehicle fetched an impressive $1.6 million, with the proceeds directed towards the amfAR foundation, a renowned organization focused on AIDS research, during the star-studded amfAR Gala held alongside the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, attended by celebrities such as Ed Westwick, Amy Jackson, Queen Latifah, Heidi Klum, Bianca Balti, and Alica Schmidt.

Highlighted by Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, the Launch Edition of the DB12, the first customer model, showcases special features like the signatures of current Aston Martin Formula 1 racing drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso. The vehicle’s striking hero color, Iridescent Emerald, a distinctive Q by Aston Martin paint finish, captivates with a bronze-colored gleam under specific lighting conditions due to the inclusion of a gold xirallic pigment, as revealed by Aston Martin.
