2026 Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition Bids Farewell to a Celebrated Modern Sports Car

Toyota is preparing a final send-off for the current Supra, closing the chapter on the fifth-generation GR Supra with something special. The GR Supra MkV Final Edition isn’t tiptoeing out quietly—it’s arriving with sharper reflexes and a more focused setup. This farewell model embraces performance with a bold attitude, signaling one last adrenaline rush before the curtain falls on this era.

Six years ago, Akio Toyoda reignited the Supra legacy and brought it back to showrooms. Built through a still-polarizing partnership with BMW, the result was a machine that packed real performance and carried its legendary nameplate with pride. Despite skeptics, the Supra proved its mettle with enthusiasts and casual drivers alike, carving out a place in today’s performance car scene.

Toyota has steadily refined the Supra each model year, following the Japanese philosophy of “kaizen”—continuous improvement. The Final Edition reflects the latest round of subtle yet meaningful tweaks. With each iteration, the Supra became more capable and composed, and this latest version aims to capture the peak of that journey with precision updates throughout.

Starting with its footprint, the Final Edition rolls on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for extra grip. Toyota reworked the suspension geometry with revised camber angles at each corner, aiming to boost agility and control when pushing through twisty roads or on track days. Small adjustments here yield big gains in responsiveness and road feel.

Chassis updates go further with retuned adaptive dampers and a stiffer front sway bar for sharper handling. Revised front control arm bushings and new rear subframe mounts add rigidity, translating to more immediate steering feedback and less body flex. It’s all tuned to elevate the Supra’s dynamic edge without compromising daily usability.

Under the skin, the Final Edition benefits from a reprogrammed rear differential and updated engine and transmission mapping. Toyota’s motorsport division fine-tuned these systems to dial out understeer and improve throttle response. Bigger Brembo brakes up front also step in to provide consistent stopping power, even during long stints of spirited driving.

Beyond performance, the Final Edition gains a few visual and aerodynamic tweaks. A carbon fiber ducktail spoiler and matching mirror caps give the car a motorsport-inspired flair. Functional elements like front wheel arch fins also serve to manage lift, combining form and function in a package that looks as fast as it drives.

For those who want even more visual punch, Toyota is offering an optional GT4-inspired appearance pack. This adds red mirror caps, matte carbon trim, aggressive side decals, and a race-style spoiler. Available only in two exclusive hues—Burnout and Undercover—it draws a direct line to the Supra GT4 race car, both in spirit and style.

Under the hood, the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six returns, still pushing out 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can opt for an eight-speed automatic or keep it classic with a six-speed manual. Either way, performance remains brisk and rewarding, with a distinct powerband and a chassis that keeps up.

Pricing for the Final Edition starts at $67,950, regardless of transmission. That’s a noticeable step above the standard GR Supra, but Toyota isn’t phasing out the base models yet. The entry-level version continues at $56,900, with the Premium trim landing at $60,050. Sales for the full lineup kick off in spring 2025, with production ending by spring 2026.

A sixth-generation GR Supra may already be in the works, but Toyota hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet. If this is truly the end, the MkV Final Edition serves as a high-octane farewell. It might not run a quarter-mile in ten seconds, but it delivers the kind of driving purity fans will remember long after it’s gone.
