Dodge takes action against dealerships that engage in price gouging for the 2023 Challenger SRT Demon 170

The release of the 1,025 hp 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 has sparked excitement among car enthusiasts. However, as is often the case, some unscrupulous dealers have been charging exorbitant prices of up to $250,000 over the MSRP, taking advantage of customers who are willing to pay for this unique car.

Dodge has implemented a special ordering process to help mitigate this problem. The process requires a signed and notarized document, which includes a warning against driving the car in certain conditions and prioritizes orders based on pricing. Although this process doesn’t necessarily stop dealers from charging more than MSRP, it gives priority to buyers who pay MSRP or less.

Surprisingly, out of the 1,000 orders received by Dodge on March 27th, 63% were sold at MSRP, indicating that the process is effective in curbing greedy dealers. While some may still exploit loopholes in the system, it is heartening to know that there are still legitimate sales at a fair price.
