The 2023 Dodge Demon 170 costs $100,361, has 1,025 hp, and can reach 0-60 mph in 1.66 sec

Dodge has revealed the latest addition to their lineup, the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, at the Dodge Last Call Powered by Roadkill Nights Vegas performance festival. This muscle car boasts a production HEMI engine that delivers an impressive 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb.-ft. of torque, which can reach 900 horsepower and 810 lb.-ft. of torque on E10 fuel. With these powerful specs, the Demon 170 can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.66 seconds, with a G-force acceleration of 2.004 gs, making it the quickest vehicle ever produced by the brand.

The Challenger SRT Demon 170 has also made history as the first factory production car to run a quarter-mile in under nine seconds, with an 8.91-second ET at 151.17 mph, certified by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). However, its impressive performance has resulted in NHRA violation letters for running a sub-nine-second quarter-mile without a safety cage or parachute, just like its predecessor, the original Demon.

Interestingly, the Demon 170 does not come with black key fobs, unlike the previous 2018 Challenger SRT Demon. The new model can sense the percentage of ethanol fuel content to determine horsepower levels, rather than limiting it with a black key fob. Dodge brand chief executive officer Tim Kuniskis said that this latest vehicle marks the end of the HEMI muscle-car era, and is the world’s first sustainable-energy, eight-second, factory-production, street-legal muscle car.

The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 has undergone significant upgrades in its components, resulting in a nearly brand-new engine and several additional features to help harness its power. These upgrades include a modified 3.0-liter supercharger, a unique drag mode suspension, and massive drag radials. Production of this model is set to begin this summer, with a limit of at most 3,300 units.

Current owners of the original 2018 Challenger SRT Demon who secure a dealer allocation for the new 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 can match the same vehicle identification number as their original Demon. The new Challenger SRT Demon 170 will be available for $96,666 MSRP (excluding destination and fees), and ordering will begin on March 27, 2023. Dealer orders at MSRP will receive priority scheduling.
