Elon Musk calls rampant vandalism “full terrorism” after multiple Teslas are set on fire

Early Tuesday morning, a Tesla service center in Las Vegas was targeted in a violent attack. At least five Teslas were damaged, with two engulfed in flames. Authorities say the suspect used Molotov cocktails and fired shots into the vehicles. “Resist” was scrawled on the door, and the suspect remains at large. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident, which has drawn the attention of federal agencies.

Surveillance footage revealed the suspect, dressed in black, attacking the vehicles at around 2:45 a.m. Police confirmed that incendiary devices were used to start the fires, with one device failing to detonate. This incident is under investigation by both local and federal agencies, including the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, as authorities examine potential political motivations behind the attack.

FBI Special Agent Spencer Evans addressed the potential link to terrorism, saying the act showed some characteristics of such incidents, though it is too early to make a final determination. He urged anyone planning similar actions to reconsider, stressing the serious legal consequences. The FBI is also looking into whether this attack is connected to other similar incidents nationwide.

In response, Tesla CEO Elon Musk condemned the violence, pointing out that Tesla, as an electric car manufacturer, is not deserving of such aggression. Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and Senator Cortez Masto also condemned the act, expressing their support for law enforcement. Both promised that those responsible would be brought to justice.
