Acura’s venture into electric vehicles debuts with the 2024 Acura ZDX, open for reservations at $64,500, making it the costliest model in the Acura lineup, surpassing the MDX’s base price of just over $50,000.
In comparison, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, sharing the same Ultium platform and battery tech, comes in $7,305 cheaper than the ZDX, highlighting cost differences despite both being produced at General Motors’ Spring Hill, Tennessee facility.
Choosing the ZDX A-Spec at the base price includes a rear axle single motor, with an optional $4,000 investment for a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, resulting in a peak output of 340 hp.
For heightened performance, buyers can opt for the ZDX Type S, priced at $73,500, featuring a standard dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering an estimated 500 hp, with an optional $1,000 performance wheel and tire package.
Both ZDX models share a 102-kWh battery enabling fast charging at up to 190 kW, providing an impressive 80-mile range boost in just 10 minutes, with estimated ranges of 325 miles (rear-wheel drive), 315 miles (all-wheel drive), and 288 miles (Type S variant).
Measuring 197.7 inches in length, the ZDX is a midsize SUV with two rows of seats, accommodating five occupants. The interior boasts an 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.3-inch infotainment display.
Acura confirms integration of built-in Google apps, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bang & Olufsen audio, and a Hands-Free Cruise driver-assist system, akin to GM’s Super Cruise, allowing hands-free driving on 400,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada.
Set for early spring deliveries, the ZDX processes initial orders in mid-February, marking Acura’s shift to online EV sales, providing buyers the flexibility to finalize their purchase either at home or at a preferred dealership.
