The name “Revuelto” was chosen for Lamborghini’s latest model due to its meaning of “scrambled” in Spanish. The name itself also originates from a bull that fought in Spain in the 1880s. The Revuelto boasts a unique hybrid powertrain, stunning bodywork, enhanced technology, and a more practical interior. The innovative plug-in-hybrid drivetrain is complemented by the traditional V-12 engine.
The Revuelto is equipped with a 6.5-liter V-12 engine that produces 814 horsepower, combined with three electric motors that result in a total maximum power output of 1001 horsepower. Two of the electric motors are located on the front axle, providing torque vectoring during both power and regenerative braking. A third motor is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is now positioned behind the combustion engine. The 3.8-kWh battery pack is located between the seats and can be recharged from a port in the front luggage compartment or by using the V-12 engine to turn the rear electric motor into a generator.
The Revuelto features Lamborghini’s classic low, wedgy design, but with new elements such as the hooded headlights inspired by the Ducati Panigale superbike, Y-shaped running lights, and spherical radar sensors. The side view is dominated by huge air intakes behind the doors and aero wings on each side, covering massive air channels. The rear engine cover provides visibility of the top of the V-12 engine, while the back end is accentuated by center-exit exhaust tailpipes beneath a moving wing element.
The Revuelto boasts a more spacious cabin with increased headroom and elbow space. Lamborghini addressed previous customer complaints about a lack of storage space by adding several stowage areas and cupholders. The cockpit is equipped with three digital display screens, including a 12.3-inch instrument pack, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and a new 9.1-inch letterbox display.
The Revuelto also features a new driving mode, Città, for EV-only low-speed urban use, with an electric-only range of around six miles. Lamborghini claims the Revuelto to be the most powerful and quickest road car in the company’s history. The model is already in high demand, with the first two years of production fully ordered. Deliveries are expected to commence later this year, and the final price has not yet been determined.
