Mazda Cuts $10,000 Off 2026 CX-70 Hybrid While Adding Key Upgrades

Mazda’s CX-70 for 2026 arrives with subtle refinements, updated trims, and a lineup aimed at balancing performance and everyday usability. Sharing much of the CX-90’s styling while dropping the third row, this midsize SUV retains a sleek, athletic profile. Gas-powered versions continue with a 3.3-liter turbo inline-six producing 280 horsepower, with minor price adjustments reflecting Mazda’s effort to stay competitive while maintaining its premium, driver-focused character.

Pricing changes are modest yet meaningful. Preferred trim starts at $43,780, up $1,805, while Premium remains near $47,810. Premium Plus nudges higher to $51,100. Drivers seeking extra output can opt for S variants, raising power to 340 horsepower. S Premium starts at $54,770, with S Premium Plus at $58,200. This balance of pricing, performance, and options gives buyers flexibility while preserving the CX-70’s overall appeal.

Plug-in hybrid CX-70s see the most dramatic changes. Premium and Premium Plus trims are replaced with SC and SC Plus, simplifying choices and significantly lowering cost. SC begins at $45,780, SC Plus at $48,780—more than $10,000 below last year’s equivalents. Despite the price drop, both trims retain key features, offering a hybrid experience that blends efficiency, comfort, and practicality without compromising usability or style.

Hybrid functionality improves beyond pricing. Electric-only range grows by four miles to 30, while a new EV drive mode smooths transitions between gas and electric power. SC trim includes heated side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a powered liftgate, leatherette seating, and an eight-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, all adding convenience and reinforcing Mazda’s focus on combining sporty driving with everyday comfort in the hybrid.

SC Plus adds real leather, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and an eight-way adjustable passenger seat. Black exterior badging is now standard across all trims. Nonhybrid Preferred adds ventilated fronts, heated rears, and upgraded seating adjustments, while Premium gains a hands-free liftgate and power-folding mirrors, enhancing daily usability and convenience without altering the CX-70’s sporty character.

Premium trims also gain functional enhancements, including a hands-free liftgate, Towing drive mode, and auto-dimming, power-folding side mirrors. Together, these updates make the 2026 CX-70 more capable, versatile, and competitive in the midsize SUV segment while retaining Mazda’s driver-focused identity. Style, technology, and performance are all balanced, keeping the SUV’s premium, sporty nature intact for the new model year.
