Once nearly impossible to find without paying extra, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is now seeing a notable shift in demand. What was a seller’s market has cooled substantially. Build allocations are no longer scarce, and dealer lots are filling up. A recent check of Chevrolet’s national inventory tool lists 1,702 Z06s waiting for buyers across the U.S.
Among those, 1,001 are coupes and 700 convertibles, making this the most plentiful C8 model on dealer lots at present. Other variants like the Stingray and E-Ray lag behind with 1,092 and 873 units available, respectively. What once was an uncommon sight in showrooms is now a familiar presence. Experts such as Corvette Blogger suggest that hefty early markups played a role in tempering demand.
The recent update to the C8 lineup also factors into slower sales, featuring a refreshed interior and new exterior colors. None of the Z06s currently on dealer lots reflect these changes; they are all 2024 or 2025 models. Some shoppers remain wary of the center-console’s heavily buttoned design, often nicknamed the “button wall.” Meanwhile, buzz around upcoming high-performance models like the ZR1 and rumored ZR1X may be diverting attention.
Price trends highlight this change in market dynamics. Z06s that once commanded premiums now often sell below MSRP. For instance, a Riptide Blue 1LZ coupe appears listed at $107,464, about $12,000 less than original sticker. Across the country, ten Z06s are priced under $110,000, a sharp contrast to launch days when six-figure markups were common.
Adding the Z07 package does increase cost but remains reasonable. The cheapest Z07-equipped Z06 in stock is listed at $125,790, also $12,000 beneath its original MSRP. Eight of these performance-focused models are currently available for less than $140,000. Given the enhancements, the package still represents solid value.
Whether selecting the standard Z06 or the Z07 variant, both provide remarkable performance without reaching supercar price territory. These Corvettes offer impressive power and handling while staying accessible compared to many competitors. Despite rising capability and acclaim, the model continues to deliver exhilarating speed without demanding a supercar budget.
