SRT Stages a Comeback with Tim Kuniskis at the Helm of Revival

Stellantis is reviving the SRT badge, signaling a renewed commitment to American performance engineering. Once a dominant force under FCA, the Street and Racing Technology division lost visibility following the merger with PSA Group. That chapter is closing. With SRT’s return, Stellantis positions itself to reclaim its place in the horsepower wars and reestablish a clear identity in the world of factory-built speed machines.

Dodge has made the pivot official in a new video, appointing Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis to guide SRT’s rebirth. His plan centers on assembling a handpicked crew of engineers from across Stellantis’s global brands. This elite group will develop high-performance hardware under the Direct Connection banner and lead motorsport programs across North America with a unified and focused approach.

Engineers under the SRT umbrella are tasked with delivering machines that push performance boundaries through advanced powertrains, sharpened dynamics, and modern aerodynamic treatments. Technology will play a central role, but so will the pursuit of raw capability. Kuniskis describes the initiative as a blend of deep-rooted heritage and forward-thinking performance, setting the tone for what’s next.

Added responsibility accompanies the revival. Kuniskis now oversees Stellantis’s American portfolio, along with its marketing and retail strategies across the continent. His new reporting line to CEO Antonio Filosa confirms strong executive backing. No official model list has surfaced yet, but news of Hemi V-8 production restarting this August has stirred anticipation for a return to full-throttle, tire-smoking muscle.
