In this life, you have to follow your dreams and your passions. If you don’t do this, then you will be missing out on the great life that you’ve pictured in your head for so long. As someone with a passion for cars, bikes, and anything motoring, it’s up to you to get out there and really stake a claim. Opportunities don’t really fall on our laps as much as we’d like, unfortunately.

Those in the high-level jobs of the motor world got there somehow, and you can absolutely replicate it. You could be working on a zx10 or developing the latest tech for the newest model before you know it. As mentioned before, you won’t just have things fall onto your lap, you have to make sure you go out there and be proactive. Here are a few ways you can get into your dream position and really make something of yourself in this world:
HEAD BACK TO SCHOOL
There are obviously plenty of courses around that can teach you all kinds of different mechanical engineering facets. You can choose from a list that ranges anywhere from general engineering to specific areas of motoring. If you go back to school, then you’re going to get a lot smarter and practical when it comes to this particular segment of the world. You’ll also get much better qualifications. They will be able to put you in a great spot as you look for the best places.
VOLUNTEER IN PLENTY OF SPACES
In terms of putting yourself out there, you’ll likely have to work in a few places for free. Some places may not be able to afford to take you on board. This kind of commitment will only help you, however, as it’ll show people in your future that you’re serious. This could mean anything from washing cars to helping out with a few small jobs. Again, you’ll learn more and you’ll become more confident as time progresses.
HAND YOUR RESUME INTO ALL KINDS OF SHOPS
When you feel as though you’ve got enough backing via qualifications and experience, you can then start to apply for places that you think would suit you. When it comes to dropping off a resume or sending one in via email, you’ll have to make sure that it’s presented neatly and you cover it with a letter that fully explains your intentions. Tell them exactly what you hope to achieve in your career.
NETWORK WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE
There will be people around you that harbor the same interests as you. There are millions in the same boat. So, if you really want to get into this industry, it’s best to get in touch with like-minded people. They could provide you with all kinds of opportunities. You might meet people at car shows or online – and it could be the best thing that ever happened.
