First 2015 BMW i8s delivered to customers

Today, BMW delivered the world’s first i8s to customers at BMW Welt in Munich.

The first 8 customers from Germany received their new i8s as part of a special ceremony in which the  Head of Sales and Marketing Germany for the BMW Group presented them with the keys to their new vehicles.

According to  Roland Krüger, Head of Sales and Marketing Germany for the BMW Group, “Today, we are continuing the BMW i success story with the first eight BMW i8 customers worldwide. This success would not be possible without our retail partners. We are delighted that our BMW i agents are accompanying us on the road to the future of mobility.”

Here’s a quick refresher: A 1.5-liter engine is the power behind the BMW i8, delivering 231 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque. The i8 is also equipped with an electric motor, delivering 131 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque.
