MINI Cooper Paceman gets a kid makeover

Out with the old and, well … in with a youthful take on the MINI Cooper S Paceman.

Students at the BMW plant in Germany have devised a one-off MINI Paceman Adventure: a two-seater car with a pickup style cargo area.

The modified exterior is sure to turn heads, but the Paceman Adventure still packs the turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive ALL4 of the 135 kW/184 hp Paceman.

The Adventure is definitely suited for rougher terrains, as the students added a modified chassis with extended ground clearance and higher front and rear clearance ramps. There’s also a “snorkel-like roof level air intake,” BMW says. This doesn’t quite mean the car is amphibious but does mean that it’s ready to cross a river (along with a desert, gravel roads and mountains).

Other features of the MINI Paceman Adventure include lights on the roof rack to for better night visibility, off-road tires – with a spare on a roof rack – and exclusive Jungle Green metallic paintwork.

There are no plans for series production, but we can almost assure that serial gazing will occur whenever the MINI Paceman Adventure is on display.
