Subaru unveils the new WRX in LA

Subaru debuted its latest sports model today at the LA Auto Show. The newest model in the Japanese automakers’ sport line features  a 2.0-liter turbo Boxer engine, all-new design and sports performance in a four-door sedan.

The enhanced engine is the hallmark of the 2015 WRX. The previous 2.5-liter model has been improved with a new 2.0-liter direct injection turbo engine producing 268 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 258 lb.-ft. of torque at 2000-5200 rpm. The engine also boast increased environmental performance with the addition of electric powered steering and fuel efficiency.

Complimenting the sport engine are enhanced design elements. Tensile steel throughout the body makes the vehicle lighter; further improved safety with refined bonnet and bulkhead and collision absorbing materials. The suspension is advanced for high-performance handling and cornering.

The all-new design promises innovative features and exterior and interior comfort. The new WRX features a hexagonal grille, new ‘hawkeye’ headlights, speaker silhouette, dual rear exhausts and lip spoiler. The wheelbase has been stretched by 25 mm (0.984 inches) resulting in additional leg, elbow and shoulder room. US models will be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheel design and front and rear headlamps and lights.

The accents in the interior of the vehicle define the new WRX as a sport sedan. The WRX features carbon and metal accents, silver logos, red stitching, red lighting, a 3.5 LED display that offers vehicle stays updates with a multi-function display, racing seats and flat-bottom steering wheel.

The all-new Subaru WRX announces itself to the competition as a force in the sport sedan market. The vehicle will launch in Japan and North America in 2014.
