Chevy releases 2015 Tahoe and Suburban specs

The 2015 models of the Tahoe and Suburban, two of Chevrolet’s most popular full-size SUVs, will feature new V-8 EcoTec3 engines, high-tech safety features and entertainment system. Better fuel economy is also part of the deal, although official EPA figures aren’t available yet.

The Tahoe and Suburban are powered by standard 5.3-liter V-8 engines with refined engine mounts and feature a Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 2015 Suburban marks the model’s 80th anniversary and 12th generation of the original SUV, which was first introduced in 1935 and has one of the most recognizable nameplates in the industry. The Tahoe is the segment’s sales leader.

The infotainment system is anchored by an eight-inch color touchscreen radio with next-generation MyLink connectivity and up to six USB ports and six power outlets – including a 110-volt three-prong outlet. In all, there are 12 charging location. Keyless entry and push-button start are standard.

Safety features in all models include a radar while additional standard and available components include a forward collision alert, front park assist, lane departure warning, lane change assist and more.

Additional touches include projector-beam headlamps and an all-chrome dual-port grille. High-intensity discharge headlamps and LED daytime running lamps are standard in the LTZ model.

The new Tahoe and Suburban will arrive at Chevrolet dealerships in the first quarter of 2014.
