Chevy announces Silverado ‘Rescue Squad’ fleet at Woodward Dream Cruise

Five red 2014 Chevrolet Silverados will patrol The Dream Cruise on Woodward Avenue in Detroit to assist drivers who need help. The so-called Chevrolet Certified Service Rescue Squad will be on hand at the Aug. 17 event.

The squad helped more than 25 classic cruisers in need last year and Chevrolet has increased the squad’s fleet by three cars for this year’s installment. ASE certified technicians from Buff Whelan, Gordon, Les Stanford, Mary Feldman and Suburban Chevrolet will man the squad.

“No one wants to breakdown or cause ‘The Dream Traffic Jam,’ so Chevrolet Certified Service technicians will be assisting cruisers with minor issues that can be easily remedied,” said Steve Walczak, Chevrolet Certified Service marketing manager.

Two Chevrolet Certified Service locations will be available to Dream Cruise participants, located at Fifth Third Bank – 29710 Woodward Avenue and The Vitamin Shoppe at 31753 Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Mich.
