One of the oldest adages in all of automobiledom is “race on Sunday, sell on Monday”. Apparently Chevrolet has taken that ball and ran with it, having been the winningest automaker in motorsports in 2012, securing a whooping six manufacturer’s championships in four series (NASCAR National Touring Series, IndyCar, ALMS, and GRAND-AM). Consequently, this has translated into all of their performance vehicles being sales successes, with the Camaro leading the way, having moved 84,391 of them into the driveways and garages across America.

Obviously not wanting to fix what’s not broken, Chevrolet has tweaked a few things to make a good thing even better. On the design front, slight modifications have been made in the sake of better performance, from the larger front grille for improved cooling and reduced drag, to  a functional hood vent on the SS models for improved stability at high speeds.

All three models return for the 2014 model year, from the base Camaro with “only” an 323 horsepower V-6, to the SS coupe and convertible with 426 hp (and the 1LE coupe for track days), topping off with the granddaddy of them all…the ZL1, with a staggering 580 horsepower driving the rear wheels. Bridging the gap between the SS and the ZL1 is the return of the iconic Z/28, featuring the naturally aspirated 7.0 LS7 engine and also being track-ready.

The Camaro lineup goes on sale later this summer, with the Z/28 debuting in 2014.
