Lamborghini is marking its presence at the Frankfurt Auto Show with the Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder, which sports an electro-hydraulic, lightweight soft top and sprints 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds.

The drop-top Lamborghini is powered by a 610 hp 5.2-liter V-10 engine that helps it reach a top speed of 201 mph. The Spyder also is equipped with new tech, including ‘cylinder on demand’ in combination with ‘stop start’, and a new electronically controlled all-wheel drive. The Spyder generates up to 8,700 rpm and provides 413 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,500 rpm. The soft top roof is available in black, brown and red colors and opens in 17 seconds.

The new Lamborghini features two movable fins when the roof is down, which become visible as it opens. They optimize the airflow through the engine compartment. The chassis of the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder is a combination of aluminum parts and carbon fiber, and is 40 percent lighter than the Gallardo. The new Spyder weighs 1,542 kilograms (3,399 lbs.)

The interior features a 12.3-inch TFT display from which several modes can be chosen along with the optional navigation map. The TFT display is part of the new standard-fit Lamborghini Infotainment System II. The interior is also highlighted by Alcantara and fine nappa leather trims. Five trim choices include Standard, Elegante, Sportivo with Alcantara, Sportivo bicolor with Alcantara and Sportivo bicolor with soft leather, along with 17 interior colors, are available to make each Spyder as customized as possible. Eleven external colors are available, and the Ad Personam individualization program allows for additional choices, including five matte exterior colors.

“The Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder is the next chapter in the success story of the naturally aspirated V-10 Huracan, and continues a Lamborghini tradition of open air motoring,” Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said in a news release. “Its predecessor, the Gallardo Spyder, was the best-selling open top model in Lamborghini’s history: we expect the Huracan Spyder to exceed its predecessor in every way.”

The Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder has a retail base price of 186,450 Euros. Deliveries will begin spring 2016.
