Hyundai unveils ‘chivalrous’ Vision G Concept Coupe

Hyundai Vision G Coupe Concept

Hyundai has officially teased what its luxury cars may look like and there’s a lot to like in the Hyundai Vision G Coupe Concept, a gorgeous vehicle with a 420 horsepower V-8 engine and technology that opens doors – valet-style.

Under the hood of the Vision G is a 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine producing 420 hp at 6,000 rpm and 383 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,000 rpm. This V8 has an optimized intake runner length and a low-torque exhaust manifold and increased compression ratio and upgraded multiple-injection mapping.

Hyundai North America shaped the design of the Vision G with input from its studios around the world, the company said in a statement. Engineers focused on “chivalry” as the central theme, which translates to the concept’s “understated” appearance despite its hefty size: The car’s long hood and high beltline and a slingshot-like cabin are some of its immediately noticeable highlights.

Hyundai’s designers also sought to make Vision G appear as if “constant motion” – creating “respectful luxury” that exudes power and fines but does so subtly.

The Korean automaker initially showcased the concept to select media at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and it will next head to the the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, August 16.
