Cadillac’s flagship 2016 CTS-V is definitely here to give Mercedes-Benz and BMZ some serious competition when it comes to the combination of luxury and performance. The Detroit automaker has teased the paddle-shift 8-speed automatic transmission in its top car and now it’s releasing the full gawdy specs, which include a 630 lb.-ft. of torque and 640 hp out of a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8.

The sedan-slash-race-car gets up to 60 mph from zero in 3.7 seconds and can reach speeds north of 200 mph. That makes the third-gen CTS-V the most powerful Cadillac ever and the crown jewel of the company’s decade-old V-Series performance division. Or, as Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen put it, “the pinnacle of our design and technical capabilities.”
