Infiniti has announced plans to unveil the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration concept at the Paris Motor Show on Oct. 2. The four-door hybrid-electric completes the “upper range” expansion of the Hong Kong-based brand that promises to soon start production in China and Europe to go along with U.S. and Japan factories.
The Q80 Inspiration is 198.9 inches in length with a 122.2-inch wheelbase accompanied by custom 22-inch five-dual-spoke lightweight alloy rims. The hybrid-electric vehicle has a width of 79.8 inches and height of 53.1 inches – which qualifies why Infiniti unabashedly refers to it as “expansive, edgy, sensual.”
The other cool aspects of the Inspiration are the absent side-door mirrors, acoustic glass as the roof – complimenting the chassis to ensure high-quality sound – and doors that open portal style. In other words: Welcome to the future, this is not your mid-90s Q45.
Aluminum, carbon fiber and leather were used in construction and consideration for space is evident. Still, this being a concept, Infiniti plans to refer to Q80 and implement the design across its vehicle line-up. The Q80 Inspiration, however, serves as the brand’s entry into an emerging class called premium fastback segment.
The Infiniti Q80 Inspiration concept will formally debut at 15:30 (3:30 p.m.) on Oct. 2 in Hall 5 of the Parc des Expositions de Versailles.
