252-horsepower Ford Focus ST revealed

Ford is bringing out the newest and sportiest edition of the Focus at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K., touting its upgraded tuning and interior.

Under the hood of the 2015 Ford Focus ST is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine that delivers 252 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and torque max of 270 lb.-ft. at 2,500 rpm. Exclusive gear ratios from a 6-speed manual transmission produce fast acceleration in lower gears and comfort at higher speeds.

The Europe-based Ford Team RS, an arm of Ford’s Global Performance Vehicle group, was behind the upgrades on the ST. From exterior details, with front and rear fascias looking sportier than ever and two strip variants, Satin Black and High Gloss Red, available with matching mirror skull caps, the ST is extremely refined.

The sports suspension has all-new front springs and sportier shock absorber tuning in the front and rear. The ST’s sports body kit has body colored side skirts and diffuser elements and a rear roof spoiler. All of the Focus ST models have twin-hexagonal center tailpipes.

Inside, a new center console provided ample storage space and a new media bin with high-speed USB connectivity. Ford SYNC, SYNC AppLink and Android and iOS support 60 AppLink-enabled apps from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The Focus ST comes with a standard rear view camera and 18-inch Rado Gray alloy wheels. A new color, Magnetic Metallic, is available, replacing Ingot Silver.

The 2015 Focus ST will come in ST1, ST2 and ST3 trim levels. ST1 seats have gray/charcoal/anthracite black fabric; ST2 adds partial leather with base and side bolsters in one of four colors, Tangerine Scream, Performance Blue, Smoke Storm or Race Red. The ST3 seats have full charcoal black leather finish.
