GMC announces 2015 Yukon line-up

GMC has announced the 2015 Yukon, Yukon XL and flagship Yukon Denali will feature new and powerful-yet-fuel-saving EcoTec3 engines, fold-flat rear seats and updated infotainment system.

The EcoTec3 engines, initially debuted in the 2014 Sierra truck, include a 5.3-liter V-8 (355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque), which will be the standard engine in Yukon and Yukon XL while a 6.2-liter engine (420 hp and 450 lb.-ft. of torque) will be standard in the Denali. The engines are configured to more precisely control combustion and produce a higher compression ratio for more power and efficiency. The Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed automatic transmission is standard in all models.

The Yukon XL has a 14-inch longer wheelbase than the Yukon and is 20 inches longer, giving third-row passengers more legroom and additional cargo space. All of the Yukon models also feature an all-new forward radar system and a front seat center-mounted air bag.

The infotainment system is anchored by an eight-inch color touch screen radio with enhanced IntelliLink and navigation. Other features of note include a standard Bose sound system and one of three wheel choices – 18- or 20-inch on the Yukon and Yukon XL and 22-inch for the Denali.

Denali models allow drivers to choose from three themes and an optional head-up display. Keyless entry and push-button start are also included.

The Yukon, Yukon XL and the Yukon Denali will arrive at GMC dealerships in the first quarter of 2014.
