Bentley announces Continental GT V8 S

Bentley has introduced a new addition to its Continental line-up, the Continental GT V8 S, which will be available in both coupe and convertible models. The car will debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

The V8 S models are equipped with a 4-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine producing 521 hp at 6,000 rev/min and torque output of 680 Nm (502 lb.-ft.) at 1,700 rev/min.

The GT V8 S Coupe sprints 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and tops out at 192 mph. Its convertible sibling reaches 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and reaches 191 mph. Despite the power, the car can get up to 500 miles on a full tank. The fuel economy averages to 26.8 mpg highway for the coupe and 25.9 mpg for the convertible.

The S models are unique in their “more dramatic” design to convey performance, according to the British automaker. Lowered suspension and special lower-body styling are other identifying features, as are the signature 20-inch wheels with an open-spoke design that shows red-painted brake calipers.

The GT V8 S models will be available in 17 exterior colors, including Kingfisher Blue and the new Monaco Yellow, which are exclusive to the GT V8 S.

The Bentley Continental GT V8 S will arrive at dealerships in early 2014.
