Lexus unveils GS 300h at Shanghai Auto Show

Lexus has debuted the latest GS model at with the new GS 300h saloon at the Shanghai Motor Show.

The new model is aimed at the premium executive market with a focus on fleet and business customers. It features rear-wheel drive powertrain with a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with D-4S direct injection technology, and a compact, powerful electric motor.

The GS line was introduced in spring 2012 and recorded 47,787 worldwide sales by the end of the year, almost six times the total its predecessor model achieved in 2011.

The GS 300h will be available towards the end of the year in China, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, joining the GS 450h and GS 250 in the UK, and the GS 350 and 350 AWD (all-wheel drive) models, which are available elsewhere.
