The Audi RS 7 Sportback features a twin turbo charged 4.0l DOHC V8 with 560 hp at 5600 rpm and 516 lb ft from 1750 rpm. Routed through an 8 speed tiptronic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all wheel drive with torque vectoring, the RS 7 can reach 100 Kph (62.14 mph) in 3.9 seconds en route to a top speed ranging from over 155 mph in the base performance spec to 189 when opting for the dynamic package plus.

Economy was not ignored by the engineers in Ingolstadt. While EPA numbers are not yet available, on the European NEDC equivalent, RS 7 scores 9.8l per 100km or 24 mpg. Audi uses a combination of start/stop technology and their COD Cylinder On Demand system to shut off half the cylinders under low load conditions. To maintain an appropriate smoothness for a luxury vehicle, active engine mounts offset the vibrations of four cylinder mode with “out of phase oscillations”.

Handling is assisted by the Quattro torque vectoring program, which applies light brake pressure to the unloaded 20 or 21 inch wheel in cornering situations, as well as choice electronic aids.. The base RS 7 is equipped with an air suspension system that can adjust the height of the car, and adaptive damping to adjust the responses based on driver inputs and settings made to the Audi drive select system. To get the higher top speed limits a customer can opt for the sport suspension plus with DRC dynamic ride control which utilizes steel springs and three stage dampers.

The RS 7 is built off the foundation of the A and S 7 with luxury accommodations befitting a car in this segment. Standard RS sport seats are swathed in black leather and Alcantara with a diamond quilted pattern, and can be upgraded to either black or silver honeycomb patterned Valcona leather. Carbon inlays, piano black finishes and aluminum look pedals and buttons and RS badging also adorn the RS 7 cabin.

The exterior is given a more aggressive appearance front and rear to accentuate the high performance attitude as well as a power extending rear spoiler and elliptical exhaust tips. There are two appearance packages, matte aluminum and carbon, to further personalize your RS 7. The carbon package includes even more boldly styled diffusers.
